HERE'S WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT

Scroll down to see what we believe in, what we do and how we do it.

Our Statement Of Faith

  1. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writings. They are the supreme and final authority in faith and life.
  2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.
  4.  We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word and deed.
  5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
  6. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord; in His ascension into heaven and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate.
  7. We believe in the progressive sanctification and subsequent daily growth in grace and spiritual maturity of the believer following the one experience of new birth.
  8. We believe in "that blessed hope", the personal, and imminent return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
  9. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
  10. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

- John 3:16

This is what we do.

A day in the life of Riverside Bible Camp

Everyday we wake up to a little exercise in the morning to get our day started. We then get ready for some delicious breakfast and share a meal together. After this, we go back to our cabins and make our bed and a Bible themed "display" to earn some points (highest scoring cabin at the end of the week gets a prize from our tuck shop!). We then get a bit of a free time to hang-out and visit or play with other people outside of our cabin group. Then we go to chapel and sing some worship songs and listen to our speaker share God's Word. After this we go back to our cabin to have a few minutes of discussion and then it's time for us to go to our first "skill".  The skills are a variety of things the campers get to choose in the beginning of the week. This includes Riflery, Archery, Drama, Sports, Crafts, Geek Squad (table-top games), Canoeing, Swimming, Rockwall Climbing, Axe Throwing, etc. (See below for more details). Then it is  lunch time! After lunch the older kids do some chores as part of our training in growing in every aspects of life. When the chores are done, both older and younger campers get to have a little bit of a nap time! We call it "HHHH" which means Happy Horizontal Half-Hour. After this, we get to go to the next two skills our campers chose for themselves. Then the favorite time of most of our campers comes which is Tuck. Campers get to go to our Tuck Shop and choose two of the things available there whether it's a candy bar, chips, pop, freezies, etc. This is already included in the registration fee so they don't need to pay money for whatever they get. We then go back to our cabins, and begin to memorize some Bible verses for more points! After that, everyone in the camp gathers together to play a camp-wide game! We call this Monomania. During this game we get to interact with every other campers that aren't in the same cabin or skill blocks. After burning all that energy, we get to re-fuel by having supper amazingly made by our super cooks. Each cabins then get to prepare a little skit derived from a Bible verse to show everyone before the evening chapel for some more opportunity to earn more points! This is the time of the day where everyone gets to laugh at everyone else's silly antics while actually learning some valuable lessons. Our regular chapel session comes right after this and then comes Mug-up where we get to have some cookies and hot chocolate before bed while visiting other people. Some nights we are able to spend this time around the campfire where we sing camp fire songs and have a time of sharing about what God has been teaching and showing us throughout the week. After we cleaned up ourselves for bed, we all go back to our cabins and have a little devotion with our cabin mates. This is the time where we get to bond with everyone in our cabin and talk about the silliest, deepest, or most beautiful things in life. Where there is no judgement and lifetime memories are created. We then put our heads to rest and look forward to the next day where we can do this all over again.

WE GOT THE SKILLZZ! WELL SORTA....

...OK WE'RE LEARNING, BUT THAT'S THE POINT!

So many things to do

So little time

Our campers get to choose three activities that they would like to be a part of during the week. This is beyond playing 9-square-in-the-air, gaga ball, the classic bump and other things which of course, they also get to do during their free time!
